Having an Affair is Easy

Having an affair is easy. You just relax your morals, get too close to someone who’s not your spouse, dote on him/her, have fun, take it easy, laugh a lot, do the little things that make for a good relationship, and allow your emotions to be flooded with desire.

There’s just one little problem: having an affair can destroy your marriage, impugn your reputation, disease your body, derail your career, implode your finances, decay your relationships with friends and family, and suffocate your relationship with God.

Having an affair is easy. But, is it worth it?

I think not.

Claudia: I’m sorry to hear that. I’m not sure people realize just how devastating affairs are to the relationship and spouse. I’m hopeful you two are working through it (some good info that may help: http://kbb.bz/HAyzHg).

What’s especially sad is that all those “easy” steps could be carried out with the spouse, the person who is right there in front of you. That would truly be the easy way.

Rosemary, indeed. It takes the same amount of physical energy to dote on one’s spouse.
