How often are you taking advantage of opportunities to “do good” for your spouse?
According to Galatians 6:10 we’re to do what’s good for everyone whenever we have the opportunity. And, for the record, “everyone” includes your spouse. And to take it a step further, that scripture goes on to say that we especially should do good for those who are in the family of believers, i.e., those who are fellow disciples of Christ.
Don’t wait to do good for your spouse. Look for ways to bless him/her. Do you see that your mate is tired? Volunteer to take on some extra responsibilities around the house that will let him/her go to bed earlier for the night. Is your mate ill and need extra care? Offer it or setup a way for someone else to provide that help. Does your mate work a physically laborious job outside where he/she is exposed to the elements all day (like now when it’s blazing hot)? Offer a cold drink or washcloth when he/she gets home.
Whatever the case may be, don’t wait to do good. Take advantage of the opportunities presented, and be a blessing!
